"Objectifying things since 2006"
Ha ha ha, well, where should I begin. One of the very first cameras I've used (remember using anyways) was actually way back in Jr. High school - one of the CTS classes involved photography and we actually made pinhole cameras and used them on some houses in the area. I've actually only had a passing interest in cameras, even when my brother had gotten a digital Canon powershot. I didn't even bother to even learn any of the shooting modes (yes, they're the bane of real photographers) since my brother always shot in "Action" mode. Ooooh boy was I clueless. Then one day Allan had gotten a dSLR and, unbeknownest to me, that had begun my slow eventual spiral to do photography. At first it was a casual shot here and there with his d50... eventually he upgraded and I mentioned the passing interest to him (unknowingly - I actually had no idea what the heck he and Darren were talking about every time camera conversations came up XD). So he then convinced me to take it for a test run with a Tokina 28-80mm lens (which I might aquire as well T_T) and the camera then ensared me in all of it's seductive glory. It's use just seemed very natural to me and it was surprising what I got out of it considering what minimal instruction I had in terms of apetures and shutter speeds. Heck, I didn't even know what "boke/bokeh" meant until a week ago haha. Hopefully, I don't go broke buying more and more lens- oh wait... I mean, hopefully I'll continue to improve my shooting skills and produce more and more startlingly inspiring photos as time goes on (rather then the occasional fluke shot I'm getting right now XD). I also hope this grows out my creative side more. Although I feel this is a seemingly selfish goal I'll aim to pleasure (again, hopefully) not only myself but the prospective viewer as I take a cliché "journey" in this world through the view of a lens. |
